What Bourbon Did You Purchase Summer 2025?

Taking a couple day relaxation trip to Cumberland Falls, KY.  A side trip to the Liquor King in Corbin, and picked up some bottles that are not available at all back home, or at least spotty availability.  Very glad to add some Cooper’s Craft 100, as I was down to my last bottle.  The VOB brings me a smile, as it’s been a while since seeing it, even on some earlier trips to KY and TN.  The River Roots “Guardian” was a gift from one of our extended family that we meet up here every year for the family reunion, AKA Hootennanny.  😁

Those are a couple of pretty orange bottles. I’ve always thought the orange cap BiB bottles were nicely designed.

Cheers

Went on vacation to Lake Michigan this week. Went to the store to buy our groceries and this was on sale for $15. It's gonna be my beach bourbon for the next few days.

Well, why not?!?  Poor Man's BT.

No offense meant. I like. Not on regular basis but for the right price, which you found, Ima drinker!

Flatboad 125 proof.  This was in a blind tasting on the YouTube channel It's Bourbon Night (v.2.0 post Sara) where it beat out EHT Barrel Proof 2021 release 127.3 proof.  Needless to say, I was intrigued.  According to them it's Barton distillate and Flatboat is a store brand for the Liquor Barn chain in Kentucky.  However, I recently saw this was in stock at several Bay Area BevMo stores for $55, so I had to try it.  I was going to just get one bottle but I had a $20 off $100 coupon so, since I can never resist a bargain, I got two.  I'll crack one tonight and report back in a couple of days.  Fingers crossed it's as good as they said it is.

There must be some connection between Liquor Barn and BevMo since they're sharing this store brand.  The BevMo chain started out as Liquor Barn here in the Bay Area and later changed it's name.

1792 Full Proof in a different bottle?   The 1792 FP's I've had have all been very nice pours, so it's reasonable to expect the same from Flatboat, I think.   Good Luck with it.   Let us know how it compares with FP if you get a chance.

I haven't opened my bottle yet, but I tried it a bar a couple months back and I really enjoyed.  I had passed on it when it first came out, but the price has gone down since then so I grabbed one.

Thank you for sharing. I saw it at a total wine in Los Angeles a couple weeks back. Ironically it is now cheaper online

So far the only one that I've seen around here, (Baltimore Metro area), is $199.00.   That said, I haven't really looked but will keep an eye out for it....

I paid $158 for mine. Still expensive and still overpriced, but the drop was enough to trigger me to buy.  Since I had tasted it and wanted a bottle it was worth it to me.

They were $200 when they first came out around here.

Looks delicious.

I never found that one when visiting KY,

but the other flatboat products I’ve tried were all good bang for the buck.

I would guess the 125p will be good.

I'd pull the trigger at $158.

It would only be an occasional drinker anyway.

I'll probably end up with one down the road.

I'm nothing, if not patient....

Yep, this bottle can last literally years for me.
