Woodford Reserve Baccarat

On my trip to Alaska, I found a bar that had the Woodford Reserve Baccarat edition. All excited to try it as I am not likely to plunk down $2000 on a bottle, at least not that bottle 

 

As quick as my excitement grew, my disappointment grew faster as they could not sell it as it was not entered into their system. Sigh…

 

For whatever it’s worth, most who have tried it have told me it’s not the best bourbon I will ever sample so maybe I just saved myself some money?

Well all is well that ends well. At dinner tonight I spoke to our sommelier and he was able to get me a sample of the Woodford Reserve Baccarat. It was okay. Not great, not terrible. Glad I was able to check that one off my list.

 

 I will not add it to my collection at $2000. I would rather put those funds towards adding Eagle Rare 17, or William Larue Weller or George T Stagg. I can likely add two of those three for the same $2000. Maybe all three if I were to get lucky.
