2002bolt
I was wondering if anyone out there could give me a little info on this whiskey. I know it is an anniversary edition. But what about taste. And also what would be the value on a sealed bottle of this stuff? I stumbled upon this bottle and feel like i got a good deal, but just curious to see how much its worth? Any help would be appreciated. thanks 2002bolt
Paradox
There is not a set guide to bourbon/tn whiskey value. It's what the market will allow. Best bet is to see if a similar one is on ebay and watch it or list yours with a reserve that if it is won you'd be happy with the price it sells for. 2002bolt
i looked on the bay and found a few empty bottles. I think you are right though about the whole price thing. Has anyone tried this whiskey?
Paradox
I've a few times seen the bottle you speak of full but don't know the final selling price so keep an eye out, you'll see one eventually. I've never tried that whiskey though...

LeNell
As it has already been stated, an old whiskey bottle, full or empty, is only worth what someone is willing to pay. Whiskeys aren't like fine old wines that often get auctioned off to have some sense of value. I'm much more of a drinker than a collector, but occasionally I buy something for fun to have to show customers at the store. I bought a Powderhorn bottle on ebay a while back to have at the store for display before a leading a Dickel Duel. The box arrived smelling pretty darn good. Uh-Oh. That sealed bottle had leaked a little. So guess what I'm drinking right now as I type. I don't remember what I paid, but it was less than a $100. Something between $50 and $75. I can't find my receipt at the moment. I'm actually not so sad that the seal broke during shipment to cause me to pull that cork out. The Powderhorn whiskey has a darker color and richer smell and taste than the GD12. It reminds me more of the GD 10 Yr Special Reserve, but I don't have an open bottle of that around to do a side by side. The color and taste remind me a lot of my current open bottle of JD Single Barrel. Now if I just had an excuse to open that Old Fitz bottle from Pappy's time. bourbonv
We had several of these bottles at the U.D. Archive, but always empty. I was told that the whisky put into the bottle was simply Dickel 12 from that era. As a side note those bottles are popular with Star Trek fans since they were used as props in a couple of episodes.Mike Veach

It is near mint with all lables, tags, serial numbers, included is the leather strap also in mint condition. I would love to sip this whiskey with a few friends but if the money is right should I sell? Does anyone know how much this is worth. My friends will be pissed, but wife will not.
