FOUR ROSES DISTILLERY ANNOUNCES

NEW SINGLE BARREL BOURBON FOR U.S. MARKET AND OPENING OF NEW VISITORS CETER

Lawrenceburg, KY (September 17, 2004) – Today Four Roses Distillery officially announces the availability of the new Four Roses Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey in the United States and the opening of its new Visitors Center at its historic distillery grounds in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.

The 100-proof, single barrel premium Bourbon will be available in a 750ml-bottle and retail for approximately $32.

“Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon has a fruity flavor and floral aroma, plus notes of honey, maple syrup with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg, and it is always mellow with a smooth long finish,” says Four Roses Master Distiller Jim Rutledge. “We’re very proud to offer the first batches of the product in Kentucky, its home state.”

A similar single barrel Bourbon specifically-crafted for the discerning European market has been in production at the Lawrenceburg, Kentucky distillery for 5 years. Due to the success of the brand in Europe and the increased demand for small-batch and single barrel Bourbons in America, Four Roses Distillery decided to introduce a similar but uniquely crafted single barrel Bourbon product for the United States market.

“Our research shows continued growth for premium, small-batch and single barrel Bourbon whiskeys in North America,” explains Rutledge. “Following the trend of growing appreciation for these products, Four Roses is ready to supply the demand of this group of increasingly knowledgeable and discerning consumers.”

Using natural limestone-rich water from the Salt River and proprietary yeast strains to unlock the full flavor of rye, corn and barley malt, Four Roses Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon is crafted by Master Distiller Jim Rutledge to provide a uniquely mellow taste followed by a long, satisfying finish.

Four Roses Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon is aged a minimum of seven years in new charred American white oak barrels. In order to better control critical temperature variations during the aging process, Four Roses is the only distillery to age its Bourbon in single-story rack warehouses. This process aids in the consistent delivery of the Single Barrel’s distinctively smooth and mellow taste.

“We’re also very pleased to open our new Visitors Center,” says Rutledge. “It gives us a warm, functional, comfortable setting to communicate to Bourbon novices and enthusiasts alike the history and craftsmanship of Kentucky Straight Bourbon in general and Four Roses brands in particular.”

A rich environment created to reflect the distillery’s original early nineteenth-century Spanish-Mission-style building, constructed in 1911 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, greets visitors to Four Roses Distillery.

Interactive exhibits, including a 15-minute feature film detailing the history of Four Roses and the process of crafting some of the world’s most favorite Bourbons, will prepare guests for a personal tour of the facilities. (Note: Virtual tours of the distillery will be available beginning late fall 2004 for handicapped guests.)

Along the tour, guests will follow the intricate process of crafting premium Kentucky Straight Bourbon. From grain selection, yeast preparation and fermentation to the distillation process, guests will gain first-hand insight into what makes Four Roses brands some of the top-selling Bourbons in the world.

After the tour, the Gift Shop provides guests an opportunity to sample and purchase Four Roses Bourbon U.S. brands. Guests may also purchase Four Roses branded clothing, accessories and gift items.
