1995 VINTAGE OF EVAN WILLIAMS SINGLE BARREL BOURBON UNVEILED BY HEAVEN HILL DISTILLERIES

The 10th Anniversary of the Award-Winning Vintage-Dated Bourbon Has a History of Winning Top Honors

BARDSTOWN, Ky. – The year was 1995. Cal Ripkin broke Lou Gehrig’s streak of 2,130 consecutive ball games played. The “Trial of the Century” ends with O.J. Simpson being acquitted. And in a sleepy little town called Bardstown , Ky. , known to industry insiders as “The Bourbon Capital of the World â ,” Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc. filled barrels with Bourbon and put it up in their rickhouses to age.

Now the world’s only Vintage-dated Single Barrel Bourbon is being selected, bottled, and shipped to retail stores for sale in January 2005. The 1995 Vintage will mark the tenth vintage in the award-winning series of the Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.

But not before a sneak preview unveiling of the 1995 Vintage in October 2004 with a group of top whiskey writers, followed by 200 members of the Bardstown Bourbon Society, Heaven Hill Distilleries’ consumer Bourbon aficionado group.

“Each year’s vintage has a flavor profile that is distinct and different from the previous vintages,” said Parker Beam, 7th generation Master Distiller for Heaven Hill Distilleries.

The five-time whiskey of the year Bourbon has garnered several prestigious awards, including “Spirit of the Year – American Whiskey” from Food & Wine; “Domestic Whiskey of the Year” by Malt Advocate; and “Whiskey of the Year” by The Spirit Journal, the first Bourbon upon which the publication has bestowed this prestigious title.

As with each previous vintage, all of which have sold out, each bottle of Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage Bourbon is marked with the exact dates that it was placed in oak and bottled, in addition to the exact serial number of the single barrel from which it was drawn.

The 86.6 proof Bourbon is matured under the careful supervision of the Master Distiller father and son team of Parker and Craig Beam, who watch over each year’s vintage to make sure it maintains its intended flavor profile and superb quality. Produced and bottled exclusively by Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc., of Bardstown , Ky. , the 1995 Vintage will be available nationally at an average retail price of $24.99 for a 750 ml bottle, leading one noted spirits publication to confess, “Evan Williams Single Barrel Bourbon may be the best value of any whiskey, anywhere. Every year it seems as if the Evan Williams Single Barrel Bourbon couldn’t possibly top the previous year’s vintage. But then Parker and Craig (Beam) will turn out another spectacular vintage,” said Max L. Shapira, president, Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc. “This is a showcase of the Bourbon-making craftsmanship of our Master Distiller team.”
