I recently came across a old unopened bottle of bourbon. The bottle is labeled "Delta Queen Sternwheeler Riverboat". It's in a felt box labeled "The President's Choice For a Distinguished Gentleman". No date, but it is old, and was bottled for the Delta Queen when the Greene Lines owned the Queen. As far as I can tell it was distilled by Brown-Forman in Louisville. Barrel # A251859. What do I have here? Jay

The Greene Line sold Delta Queen to Edward J. Quinby and Richard S. Simonton on February 22, 1958,

It's almost as old as I am. You probably have a fine bottle of bourbon. You can enjoy saving it or enjoy drinking it. Bring it to the Sampler in Bardstown in April or to next years Bourbon Festival and share it with some folks who will appreciate it! grin.gif

More than a few of us here take particular enjoyment in the discovery of a bourbon (and/or bourbon brand) bottled long ago.

Even more enjoyable is sharing it with others who appreciate how delicious such a find may truly be.

Sounds like Gazebo Time!

Just whatever you do, don't put it in a cooler in the back of a pickup truck. Older bourbons tend to escape on the way to Bardstown if transported in that manner.
