wrbriggs
One of my favorite pours. Makes me sad that I never got to try the ORVW 15 bottling, but the Pappy 15 bottling is good enough that I don't feel that I'm missing out. Unfortunately I can't get it in my state, so I have to drink it sparingly, and when I want more, I have to order from those thieves at internetwines.com. camduncan
I should hopefully have a bottle arriving any day now A special thanks to Julian, Ken and the guys at Buffalo Trace for releasing some of this great product to Australia... I look forward to, and hope for the day when I can walk into my local and find many of the BT products!
mobourbon
I bought a bottle of the PVW 15 yesterday. I liked the ORVW 15 better. The taste is a little too heavy for me with PVW. But it's still very good.
doubleblank
I prefer the older ORVW 15/107 myself. I find the Pappy 15 has too much barrel influence for my taste......personal opinion only. But as I've said before, I generally like bourbons younger than 15yo and with less barrel influence.Randy
robbyvirus
I too prefer the ORVW 15 to the PVW 15. In fact I vastly prefer it...the ORVW 15 had a sweet, almost honey-like taste that I loved. The PVW 15 tastes more woody, and almost seems stale by comaparison. Which really depresses me, because it's the first Van Winkle bourbon that I haven't been absolutely crazy about. cas
While the tastes are similar, I prefer the ORVW 15 as well. Wish I had grabbed up a few bottles while they were still on the shelf.Craig
