As I stare into my glass of Old Fitzgerald I can't help but wonder what it is that feeling that comes over me with each sip? Far beyond the tastes and smells, something deeper touches me and all my cares and worries of the past day are quieted and for a few moments I am at peace. How can a product of such industry touch me on a personal level? Why do I feel the care and effort put forth by people I will never know? Bourbon leads me on a journey into myself and makes me wonder why. Why? Because life is good.

makes me feel warm and happy.

I never usually get too drunk when I drink but I do get a little introspective (when alone) and out of it.

Good question!

Bourbon makes me happy. I sigh, smile and am content. Single malts don't do that for me. The best give me a kind of ecstasy tinged with hunger rather than satisfaction. The traditional things to talk about are, nose, taste and finish. For me the most important is Heart Chakra. After I have smelled it, tasted it and while savoring the finish I zero in on the Heart Chakra and see what happens there. That is when I decide just how much I like a whiskey.
