I caught a cold during a visit to San Francisco, and the first day I got there a lady at the Lick House told me to drink a quart of whisky every twenty-four hours. A friend at the Occidental Hotel recommended precisely the same course. That makes half a gallon. I calculate to do it or perish in the attempt.
