I need some help. I stumbled onto several 1.75 Liter bottles of Cabin Still with red generic tax stamps. There was some small print on the front indicating they were distilled by Cabin Still in Louisville and there was a copyright(?) date of 1974? I have no intention of picking up something just because its old, but if its good..I'm game. Anyone have any info on "older" Cabin Still distilled in Louisville?

Thanks,

It's Stitzel Weller at a younger age than say Wellers Reserve or Old Fitz. Since the scramble is on to grab anything SW you may consider picking them up. I drank some Cabin Still from the 60s that was absolutely wonderful. Maybe a conservative approach would be to buy and try 1 bottle than make up your mind about the others.

I picked up an old Liter bottle of Cabin Still Today, I wonder if anyone might have any idea as to who distilled it? It has a label with the copper still and says "distilled for and bottled by Cabin Still Distillery" Bardstown Kentucky. It's 80 Proof with a yellow plastic cap with no tax stamp and there's a copywrite date on the label that says 1974 C.S.D. UPC Code 96749 23240. Thanks in advance for any imput! Tom V

You're welcome smile.gif See how handy that darn list is! If you're coming to the KBF, I've made pocket cards to carry in your wallet to use as a reference when you're actually in the store looking at those old bottles smile.gif First come, first served distribution methods! Hope to see you there!
