AVB
I "collect" bourbon in the sense I like to try different things so all my bottles get opened. However, I do know people who collect and keep full bottles without ever trying the goodness inside. I suppose there are even those that follow the scotch drinkers guide to collecting and that is to buy three. One to drink, one to save and one to sell/trade. What do we have here?Spelling spaz, of course it is hoard.
TNbourbon
Actually, I try to keep the hordes away from my hoards. (I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist -- I'm a punster at heart. )
brian12069
I always think I'm going to hoard...but I always end up opening and drinking them.
camduncan
I usually open everything. A drink is no good if it isn't drunk Much like a book is no good if you don't read it But once opened and sampled, a good or rare bottle will only get re-sampled on special occasions or with someone who will definately appreciate it
CrispyCritter
Both, but I generally only bunker a specific bottling if I find something that's a) really good, not very common, and/or c) available at an unusually low price. Of course, my bunkered bottles will eventually get opened, but it may take a while. That being said, my other form of hoarding is buying different bottles that I haven't tried before, even though it might take months for me to get to them. ratcheer
Every thing I buy is to drink. I have some unopened bottles, but there is no notion that I will keep them sealed, forever.Tim

Although some bottles may take longer to open than others.
Edward_call_me_Ed
It is not so much that I hoard, but that I buy it much faster than I can drink it... I drink it a little faster than I should, too!At this rate, there ought to be a few hundred bottles, opened and unopened, for my heirs when I go, hopefully in the far distant future.Ed
