I'm stuck in Istanbul for one more night, the restaurant has either Jim Beam White or Jack Daniels Black. They do have a ton of scotches I know nothing about and I dont really like scotch.

What should I have?

They probably have Ouzo. I'm not sure how good it is, but it shoupd be a real trip.

Personally, I'd probably have to order a Jim Beam and coke.... At least you can find it there.

We ended up going to a large, fancy joint called Reina overlooking the Bosphorus, that had three bars, and one of the bars had Jim Beam Black (insert hallelujah chorus here), and we were happy. They do have a domestic beer called Efes which was passable (think Miller)but I never got around to trying the local spirits. As a general rule I don't like stuff like Ouzo, Grappa, Unicum, Jagermeister etc. so I stay away from all of them.

I can report that Istanbul is a thoroughly cosmopolitan city and a good time can be had there.
