cas
I will be traveling to Montreal this weekend for a couple day meeting. I've had some thoughts about carrying a bottle along with me to share with colleagues in the evening. Does anyone know the regulations/restrictions that apply to bringing a single bottle of bourbon into Canada? Craig
Dave_in_Canada
You're allowed to bring in 1.1L or 40oz. of liquor so you'll be just fine. Then on your way home you might want to shop duty free so you can see if there is an offering which you can't get at home. THIS might be of help for other issues. You need sufficient ID such as a driver's licence AND a birth certificate, but a passport is recommended. I'm saying this not to get into Canada, but to allow you to return to the US without any hastle. Enjoy your trip.!
cas
Thanks for the tips. Any idea of what might be available duty free in the Montreal airport?Craig
cas
For the record:At the Cincinnati airport on the way to Montreal there was Blantons silver, Wild Turkey 12 year, Wild Turkey sherry finish, and Jack Daniels SB silver (and a few others that are widely available). All pretty reasonably priced. I didn't buy anything because I didn't want to carry it around for several days.On the return in the Montreal airport there was Jack Daniels and Jim Beam white. I didn't check the prices. Craig
gr8erdane
A warning to any who are rushing to buy tickets abroad from Cincinnati, open the Blanton's Silver box to make sure it's the real deal. I bought a box of silver at LB last April that turned out to be regular Blanton's in the silver box. I guess I should search for it but an explanation for this error is somewhere in the archives here. This note is more just a flash reminder. bobbyc
The same were available at LB in Louisville as well, but I didn't invest to find it.
