Will Buffalo Trace ever be available in California? Or do I need to place an order with Binny's? At least then I could try to sample AAA before it goes away.

Life is uncertain and sometimes short.

Order the Buffalo Trace now. You won't regret it.

IMO, the AAA 10 y/o is a good buy, but it doesn't come close to the BT.

We are still a couple of years away from offering Buffalo Trace in California. We just don't have the supply of bourbon to go any sooner. Sorry about that!

I keep telling Ken that all they have to do is raise their prices, say 50% across the board, and the supply problem will take care of itself. grin.gif

Nevertheless, he stubbornly insists that BT is doing all it can, short of reducing the quality of their products, to expand production to meet demand -- even in far-away California and maybe even my state, Arizona.

Did I read somewhere that Buffalo Trace is available in Europe? Why is that? I'm still new to all this but why would a high quality bourbon, made in America, not be sold here? Anyone?

Sweetmeats,

Don't take Buffalo Trace's California-snub personally. I don't. I just take advantage of the fine brands that are available here, and that others only wish they had. Also, we should consider ourselves lucky that we can order any spirit we could ever want through the Internet! Not all states have that privilege...

Anyway, read the following excerpt for some additional insight:

http://www.kypost.com/2003/06/02/bourb060203.html

At Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, "we are showing growth here in the United States, but in terms of opportunity and economic growth, some of the overseas markets are phenomenal opportunities," said Stephen Camisa, vice president of international sales.

Speaking of which, I've been surprised at the George Stagg sitting around here. I've seen it recently on the shelves in Vacaville, and surprisingly in Sacramento. But I can't wait for the arrival of BT.

I guess everyone does what they can, but I seldom turn my back on any of those,I'll give 'em a home!

Well, you're one up on Missouri and we even border Kentucky. No Stagg or BT here. I have to pick it up in Kentucky, order it from Chicago or California, trade for it with other Bourbonians, or pay exhorbitant prices right across the river in Illinois.

We have steadily increased production every year since 1999, when we first introduced Buffalo Trace. Due to its age, it will take about another 3 years before we can make a big national rollout.

We also introduced BT in London as a test market. Since we are a privately held company, we do not report our sales numbers as a general rule. Suffice it to say that I have read that there are other bourbons claiming to be the fastest growing brand in the UK. If their sales numbers are accurate, I beg to differ with their claim!
