Vange
I know there is a new release this December 2005. I am sure it's VERY limited similar to the other 2 release dates. What's the best way to obtain one of these ORVW 23 year old beauties?
TNbourbon
If you know a store that carries Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve 23yo, pre-order it so the storeowner can 'get it in the pipeline' before it's bottled. Also, you can email Julian after it's shipped -- he's been gracious in the past directing us to stores which have it. jvanwinkle
I can pretty much guarantee that these two stores will have the 23-year in NJ once it comes out in mid-December or end of Dec.Witty's Fine Wine & Liquor (near you)Rahway,NJAttn: Kerry Shine732-381-6776orShopper's VineyardAttn: Seth NadelClifton,NJ973-916-0707Julian

Vange
What is a fair retail price for the 23 year? I don't want to get gouged!
jspero
The 2 places I know of that carry it here in Maryland have it priced at $180 and $166.Jay
Vange
Interesting. I am already hearing preliminary pricing in the NY/NJ area of 200-250 a bottle.
Special Reserve
In Michigan it is $199.99 plus tax or more. State control sets a minimum price stored can and do charge more for premium liquor. The only store that I have seen PVWFR 23 wants $233.99 plus 6% tax. Here is a link to the state liquor control site.http://www.cis.state.mi.us/lcc_code/rs_lcct.asp
jvanwinkle
retail should be just over $200.00.Any price higher than that means that someone is taking a bigger mark-up than we expect.I don't think it will be available in PA. jvanwinkle
Have the Wine Library contact our NJ distributor in December. The dist. is Beer Imports. Ask for Renee. Their # is: 908-686-0800.Bottles should be available about December 10th.Julian
Vange
Thank you Julian! I will forward the information. As for the Wine Lirbary, it's an amazing liquor store. I highly recommend it. Pricing is very competitive for spirits. Beer prices are ok. Wine selection is tremendous. They have 2 levels. 1 is the main level and flor 2 is where they have some of the exclusive spirits and wines in glass cabinets. I love this place and if you are close, DEFINITELY worth a visit. LeNell
NYC often gets hit with higher wholesale costs, but $200 retail is what we shoot for here. I've seen it for much more, though. If you can find it below $200, consider it "a good deal."
Vange
I just got quoted for $179.99 per bottle of Pappy 23. I suppose that is a "good price".
TNbourbon
I just got quoted for $179.99 per bottle of Pappy 23. I suppose that is a "good price". No, and yes. Is it 3-4 times better than, say, Eagle Rare 17 or George T. Stagg, to name a couple of fine premium brands in the $50 range? Nope. Is that about the best price you're likely to find? Yep. My first question is, is this true and secondly can it be viewed on the webcam?(which I am watching at this very moment ) Regards, Troy @ Bar Items Plus, Australia.
