I have tried to ask questions about Heaven Hill products on this homepage 3 or 4 times but never got any answer. Last time I asked about the 20 years rye that I have read about on this forum, but no answer as usual. Is there anybody else that has experience of this home page? And does anyone know if the 20 years rye will hit the market soon?

Heaven Hill is like a lot of companies, and not just in the liquor business. They start these affinity groups with big plans, but never budget enough to keep them going properly. In particular, responding to individual customer inquiries is a fairly expensive proposition. You would think it would be worth doing if the affinity group itself is worth doing, but logic doesn't always rule. Maker's Mark seems to do a good job with its Ambassadors group. The rest don't do so well.

I have sent e-mails in recent years to a dozen or more drinks companies in North America or outside. To the best of my recollection I received only one reply, from Diageo, in response to a question about the provenance of one of the bottled forms of Guinness Stout sold in the U.S.. All the other questions seemed to vanish in the ether.

I don't believe they plan to market it at all, but who knows? I have heard that it may be available for private purchase/bottling, after jumping through the appropriate distribution hoops.

That's interesting. I wanted to join the Bardstown Bourbon Society, but couldn't because it appears the exported Evan Williams SB & Elijah Craig 12yo don't contain the invites to join. So I emailed Heaven Hill at the contact us page of bardstownbourbonsociety.com asking for info on how I could join. To my great suprise, I received a lovely letter from them with an application pack 2 weeks later. Fantastic service if I do say so laugh.gif (Note to self: To complete application, must mail the application back crazy.gif)

I tell you what, I have posted comments to Buffalo Trace on numberous occasions and they always get right back to me. They really seem to be on the ball if you ask me as far as whiskey and customer service.
