There’s a new edition to the collection this year—William Larue Weller. This is a new spin on the original “wheated†bourbon. William Larue Weller is a 12 year old bourbon entering the bottle uncut and unfiltered, for enjoyment in all of its glory! The collection is scheduled to hit stores in Early November. Here is what you can expect this year:Sazerac Rye 18 yearDistilled in October of 1985, these barrels are plenty old and contain some great rye whiskey. They’ve been aging in Warehouse K on the first floor. The first floor enables the barrels to age slowly and gracefully. This vintage has the same mature spicy taste as years past.Eagle Rare 17 yearThese barrels were distilled May of 1988. Since then they’ve been aging in Warehouse Q on the 4th floor in Rick #27. We didn’t have much last fall, so I’m sure you’re looking forward to some this year.George T. StaggWe discovered this year’s barrels of George T. Stagg in Warehouse I on floors 2, 4, and 8. They were distilled back in May 1990. The bourbon is 141.2 proof!A good bit higher than the last couple releases. This whiskey is classic George T. Stagg.William Larue Weller - NEWWelcome the newest edition to the Antique Collection - William Larue Weller. Named after the father of wheated recipe bourbons, this whiskey is uncut, unfiltered wheated recipe bourbon! The barrels were aged twelve years on the fifth floor of Warehouse Q and should be around 121.9 proof. At barrel strength you can really taste the wonderfully sweet and rich flavors of the wheated recipe. As consumers and critics discover the whiskeys of the Antique Collection the list of awards continues to grow. George T. Stagg has been named “World Whiskey of the Year†by famed whiskey writer Jim Murray, in his Whiskey Bible two years in a row. Malt Advocate Magazine also named Stagg “Whiskey of the Year†in 2002, while Sazerac Rye took home that title in 2001.“I’m very proud of the whiskey we are producing here at Buffalo Trace Distillery. This Antique Collection exemplifies our standard of quality, as well as the range of different ages and recipes we offer. I hope everyone enjoys them as much as we do,†said Kris Comstock, Bourbon Brand Manager at Buffalo Trace Distillery. For more information on the Antique Collection you can visit www.greatbourbon.com or contact Kris Comstock at kcomstock@buffalotrace.com or (502) 696-5936.
