BourbonJoe
Fred, If you get a heads up on when the WLW is going to arrive, I'd love to know. Thanks, Joe
jspero
I was luckily able to pick up 1 bottle of the WLW in MD last Saturday (~$48). I have not opened it yet. Too many others open for now. I haven't seen the new Stagg or the ER 17 (which I REALLY want), but there seems to be some Spring '05 Stagg still around.Jay
dgonano
Ronnie's in Forest Hill, Md just put the Stagg(fall), WLW, and Sazerac on the shelf. They just ordered some ER17 for delivery next week. The shelf price is under $45 for each.
JDKnaebel
The shelf price is under $45 for each. I picked up another case of Stagg and 2 bottles of WLW for 44.99. They were nice enough to knock off an additional 5% on each bottle. Not a deal.
mobourbon
Joe, I'm on it daily. I'll let you know. The Stagg is flying out of most of the stores.
CrispyCritter
Still no sign of the new Antique Collection in Chicago.
schlep
Anyone know the total amount available nationwide for each of the bottlings? My rough estimate for the Sazerac, based on the case insert, is around 2,000 bottles.schlep
boone
I found a set for a friend that emailed me and said he "missed out" Also got a couple of the WLW for a few more friends There were two WLW'S left. Bettye Jo
RedVette
UPS arrived. 2 WLW's, 2 Sazeracs, 1 GTS, 1 ER17, and for good measure, 2 Van Winkle Ryes. Lots to be thankful for this week.
RedVette
Sazerac in the glass now. So dry, and such a long finish, it never stops. So very dry, wow.
gr8erdane
Lucky Bugger, UPS only left me a note saying they'd be back tomorrow even though I left my bedroom door open and turned the fan down to hear the doorbell when they came. I shoulda paid the extra for express shipping so I could get it before the work week started... Who'd have thought in this day and age it would take a whole week? Ken Weber
Just a quick FYI, Sazerac Rye 18 year old was named American Whiskey of the Year by the Malt Advocate. Yes we make it, yes I am proud, but is it my favorite? Well................Ken
troyce
Joe (smokin joe on this site) and I got together last night to try out the new Stagg, Wm Larue Weller, Eagle Rare 17, Bernheim and revisit a few old favorites; Wild Turkey 12 and Van Winkle Lot B. In between cigars and bourbon, we were looking over the info sheets included in the 3 pack boxes of Stagg and Sazarac rye and noticed that all the facts necessary to estimate production were there. We did not have the sheets on the Weller or the Eagle Rare. Using the barrel size, barrel selection, evaporation loss and guessing at a 5% loss in process and bottling we arrived at a total output of 9995 bottles of GTS and 2296 of the Sazarac.Like I said we did not have the fact sheets on the other two Antique issues, but from what I heard, I would guess the numbers on the Weller and ER 17 are at, or lower than that of the Saz. gr8erdane
Good news! UPS actually woke me up today and I did a sneak peek of each bottle and was WOWED. None of the alcohol burn I was expecting but that was a tiny thimblefull of each as I had to work again tonight. But tomorrow night....
JamesH007
FYI: on the Weller sheet: 41 barrels (53 gallons each, 66.25 original proof gallons) 58.04% evaporation loss on the Sazerac: 28 barrels 67.73% evaporation loss Not sure how many bottles this comes out to be ,I ll leave that to the math experts
troyce
Thanks, JamesH007 ,for the numbers on the Wm.Larue Weller. That would put my guesstimate at 4370 bottles on that one. I have nt seen the ER17 numbers yet .Estimates for the other 3 would be:GTS- 9995 bottlesSaz- 2296 bottlesWLW- 4370 bottlesER17- ?
Sweetmeats
I went to Bevmo last night. They had Stagg, Sazerac, and Eagle Rare. No Weller. Damn, that was the one I wanted the most too! Needless to say, I got Stagg and Sazerac. Haven't tried Stagg yet but Sazerac was fantastic! I hope they release another version of Weller next year. I'll per-order to guarantee my bottle next time! Anyone have PDF's of these inserts that came with it? I would like to read what it says. Anyways, thanks Buffalo Trace for taking money from wallet! NorCalBoozer
The Eagle Rare 17 is 36 barrels. I'll try to scan the info sheets if I get time today.

CrispyCritter
It finally showed up here, too! I wound up picking up one each of WLW, Stagg, and Sazerac. My wallet hurts. Unfortunately, my throat also hurts and my nose is kaput, too - so I'm going to wait until I'm well again before I open them.
chasking
It finally showed up here, too! Where did you find them? As of Monday, the Spirits guy at Sam's said he was sold out---he said he had people on a waiting list he couldn't provide some for---and Binny's on Clark had the new Stagg but none of the others. DrinkyBanjo
Did you contact the Binny's whiskey hotline? I believe they have a good supply of all but the Sazerac.
ChuckMick
I haven't seen production numbers and maybe Ken Weber can confirm my guesstimates. With the information from the sheets (thanks Buffalo trace)in each case here are my guesses for the William Larue Weller and George T. Stagg. Being that they are uncut and unfiltered this makes guessing easier. George T. Stagg ~10,536 bottles Here are my calculations 53 gal * (1 - evaporative loss) .4141 = 21.9473 gal 95 barrels * 21.9473 gal = 2084.9935 gal 2084.9935 gal * 3.79 = 7902.125365 liters 7902.125365 liters divided by .75 liters = 10,536.167153... William Larue Weller ~4,607 bottles Here are the real vague guesses on Sazerac 18 and ER 17 Sazerac if uncut and unfiltered ~2,419 bottles diluted to 90 proof probably no more than 3,500 bottles Eagle Rare 17yr if uncut and unfiltered ~4,286 bottles diluted to 90 proof probably no more than 5,300 bottles If this is posted somewhere else I apologize. I really would like to know actual production numbers. Chuck
barturtle
Finally scored a bottle(okay two) of Fall Stagg in Houston today. Unfortunately there was no WLW, Saz or ER. Still on the lookout for my bottle of 05 Saz.
kbuzbee
All four showed up this week. Tried the WLW first. What a wonderful Bourbon! Wheaters are not really my thing but the nose, the palate and the finish are all just wonderful here. I will not try to supplant Tim's evaluation but rather just add my AMEN. Nicely done.Last night was the Eagle Rare 17. I was not nearly as impressed by this one. It wasn't bad. In fact the nose was fantastic. But the palate didn't seem to follow. I'll have to try this one again in a few days and see if it says constant.Ken
