robbyvirus
I saw a bottle in a local store today that I've never seen before...Hirsch 21 year old rye. It looks like a new release, and there were about eight bottles on the shelf. The bottle is shorter and wider than the Hirsch bourbon bottles...it looks a bit like the new Russel's Reserve bottle. Has anyone tried this? I would have bought a bottle, but the $114 price tag seemed a bit steep.
TNbourbon
Hirsch 21yo RyeNow, if this happens to be some of that rye stock Parker poured at the Bourbon Heritage Center to us during the Festival, I might be willing to go that high for a bottle. Or, maybe not. I'd want to see the provenance first.
barturtle
Wow, that would look real nice sitting next to a newer bottle of the Hirsch 16yo.Maybe a Xmas gift to myself. But, have I been THAT good this year...
AVB
D&M has this to say about it.Aged approximately for 20 years in Oak and in order to move the product to another aging facility in Kentucky the whisky was transferred to stainless steel tanks and then put into younger 10-15 year old oak casks. The result is this luscious rare whisky, wonderfully finished and worthy of the Hirsch trademark name.$
