AJ123
Wow, that's praise. I saw it this evening on the shelf at the local liquor store at a good price and was wondering what this forum said. It wasn't on my list of "to-buy" in my blackberry, so i passed. However, i'll have to buy it now. [btw, it was $40US]Move Heaven and Earth to try RHF. That's all I can advise...I like and respect all BT products but RHF is head and shoulders above anything else I've ever tried, from any distillery. I have had several bottles of RHF over the years, and although some were slightly better than others, ALL of them were the best whiskey I have ever had.It is 40 pounds in England and I would pay more if I had to - simply perfect! ratcheer
If I could find it for $40, I would buy all I could afford.Tim
Sijan
Tim, what price do you normally see it at? Somewhere in the $40 range sounds about right to me...
luv2hunt
$48-$55 here. So I'd say usual pricing is more like $50.Dawn
clayton
In Seattle, when you can find it, it's about $50.
ratcheer
I bought mine at a large store in Kentucky (Chuck's in Bowling Green). It was $52 plus tax, the most I have spent for a bourbon, to date.Tim
dhooch
I noticed that many of the Forum members compare Rock Hill Farms bourbon with Blantons. I have both and can say, without a doubt (IMHO), that RHF is far superior to Blantons. It is sweeter, milder going down (I always drink bourbon neat) and has the finest bourbon smell and taste of any of my premium bourbons. This is not to say there are no other bourbons that taste good, however, RHF is on top of my list. It is consistently great, also. My second bottle was just as good as my first bottle. I couldn't tell any difference. I will be buying another bottle soon. I will cross my fingers, just in case.Instead of comparing RHF to Blantons, I would compare it to a Van Winkle Family Reserve, even though the two have completely different mashbills.I have been getting Rock Hills Farm for about $45. It has ranged from $49 down to $42 here in Cincinnati and in Chicago.Hope you get a bottle. You won't be disappointed!
clayton
I agree that Rock Hill Farms is among my all time favorites. I always pick up the most amazing cocoa notes from it. My girl calls it the "chocolatey bourbon" since she noticed it, too.I've mentioned before, too, that Sam's in Chicago sells their own non-chillfiltered bottling that is even better than the standard issue. Ambernecter
I just picked up 2 more bottles of RHF on my last London visit... 40 GB pounds but it's money well spent. I'll bide my time until I open one but I know how good it's going to be!If anyone doesn't like this whiskey then send it to me and I'll happily consume it for you, shortly after informing the local asylum that you have lost your marbles! BourbonSteve
I got my first bottle for $43 and it was possibly the best bourbon I've ever had. From the price to the nose to the finish, eveything was a winner!
ProofPositive
For now, I'll take everyone's word on the RHF. In my neck of the woods, it is too close in price to Blanton's - in fact, it costs more in some stores. So, for that much dough, I'll keep my money on Blanton's for now.....and hope RHF gets more reasonable around these parts.

AJ123
I'd be curious for some tasting notes on how closely it compares to Blanton's.
ProofPositive
I'd be curious for some tasting notes on how closely it compares to Blanton's.I don't think I am going to find out anytime soon. Today, I went to get a bottle of RHF at a big retailer here in town where it is listed at $48.99. However, when I saw Blanton's on sale for $39.99, I had a fight on hand with my wallet......and the wallet won. Here with me tonite snuggling in front of the PC is a new bottle of Blanton's. Oh well, maybe next time!
ratcheer
Those are both pretty good prices, but yes, I would have a hard time dropping $90 on two bottles of bourbon at the same time, too. Those would be two very good bottles, though. Maybe next week?Tim

The Preakness being today, I wanted it even more yesterday for some reason - I'm a sucker for the marketing techniques at times! Maybe by the time the Belmont rolls around, I'll have that RHF in the fold.
