fogfrog
My reintroduction to the world of Bourbon came when I was travelling for work, went to KY and passed by the State Store. I thought it made sense to sample something from the State. So viewing the Pints, I ended up picking the Jim Beam 7YO. At the hotel, I put it on cracked ice and found it to be quite awesome. It was very sweet in my opinion. Now I figure I am going to get another bottle of that because as far as I can tell that 7YO White Label is the sweetest stuff around. Can someone tell me are there other sweet bourbons? I have been drinking the heaven hill bourbons such as Elijah Craig and Evan Williams and do not find them sweet, nor do I find Jim Beam Black to be 'sweet'.What are the sweetest bourbons? Thanks,Paul Cote

fogfrog
OK I read the posts, thanks a lot! I was considering the Old Fitzgerald and they only have the low end stuff here at my liquor store but it is cheap. Like 17 a half gallon or something. The selection here is not horrible but not great either considering I am going to a more or less liquor supermarket. It does look like when I got that EWSB1995 gift set two nights ago, there was a run on it... None left today.Well, I bought me a 7YO Jim Beam and I'm doing the comparison with the Jim Beam Black.Because of the holiday they have a greeter at the door and he is giving out presents. I got a Sam Adams bottle opener, he dropped another and I picked it up for someone at work. Then he told me to take a box when I went in. It was a really nice MADE IN USA MAG LITE with Early Times logo on it.Not bad for free. So I guess its my favorite liquor store now.

lakegz
i find OGD 114 to be an extremely sweet and brown sugar-themed bourbon.
fogfrog
I don't see Elmer T. Lee around here in KS much. Will be going to MO in January and will look out there. The Woodford seems pretty common here though. Thanks!
jspero
I have to agree that Elmer T Lee is the sweetest I've tasted so far. A close second would be Weller 12 year old.Jay
