ProofPositive
How much could one expect to have to pay for a 750ml bottle of Four Roses 90 proof? Is $60-65 too much? Does anyone expect it to be available outside KY anytime in the near future?
gr8erdane
If you're talking just plain old yellow label, WAY too much. Even the FRSB is cheaper than that in Kentucky if you hop across the border. Plus the SB is a WORLD better whiskey IMHO.
BourbonJoe
Wayne, If my memory serves me correctly, you can get a FRSB in Kentucky for about 40 bucks. Joe
jeff
I just double checked the Four Roses Website and there is no 90 proof expression currently being produced. The only products available in the US are the 80 proof yellow label and the 100 proof single barrel; $15 and $34 respectively in KY.
ProofPositive
You are correct about the current offerings and I should have been more clear in my question. It was late and probably should have waited until morning to send out the question. I think this is an older bottling. My bro-in-law, a WT enthusiast thru & thru, yesterday mentioned a friend who has some 'sitting around' that he might want to sell. I did not actually see the FR but my bro-in-law said it was a square, tapered bottle - just like the current 100 proof offering displayed on their site. We looked it up and he said it looked just like that one. However, he is absolutely sure about the 90 proof and that his friend bought several years ago in KY, and, that it is Single Barrel for sure. I asked him to get me more info and a price. He said he remembers the friend quoting $60. I figured if I had to drive out to the next county to get it, I will burn $5 of gas or so on top of the $60. Just wondered if it were worth it...kind of sounds like it ain't. & is overpriced. Also, may not be as good as the current offering.
ThomasH
Four Roses Single Barrel is 32.00?750ml at Four Roses distillery gift shop and about 30.00-32.00 at Party source and Cork And Bottle. The Four Roses gift shop was giving out shot glasses with the purchase of any bottle. Regular Four Roses yellow label sells for 16.00-18.00. Both are available only in Kentucky and a few areas of Indiana.Thomas
