ProofPositive
On my errands around town today, stopped at another store I have not haunted in years. They had a couple of what looked like old bottles of Old Fitzgerald 12yo, 90 proof, 750ml witht the neck label "Bourbon Heritage Collection". I know this is part of an older collection from the 80s or 90s that also included an I.W. Harper, 80 proof bottling. Maybe something kind of like what the Antique Collection is today(?). The bottom of the bottle revealed nothing that I could tell about the year. It had "Liquor Bottle....Made in Canada" and a few other weird sequence of letters. Anyone know or would guess about how old this bottling might be? Is it still in production? Also, who owned the Old Fitz label at that time? ProofPositive
Reply to Meself: Went ahead and picked up one of these today - Very Fine Old Fitzgerald 12yo, 90 proof. Nice looking old bottle and bottled in Louisville, a distillery cousin of Weller family as I understand it, Stitzel-Weller whiskey if I am not mistaken. Please correct me if I am mistaken. Sincerely, Me....or, should it be You? Maybe Us.....Hell, now I am thoroughly confused. P.S. I guess this may raise some questions as to my sanity. Don't worry, my wife has wondered the same for years. You can really start worrying if I respond here again.
