scratchline
If anyone in the NYC area is looking for a bottle of Wild Turkey Tribute, I was surprised to see three bottles on the shelf of a liquor store in Manhattan today. Name of the place is Manor House Cellar and they're located at 61 W. 23rd St. They have a website. I asked if they shipped, and they said yes but didn't seem to have a lot of experience doing that so I don't know how secure their packaging would be. It seemed like a new shop, but I'm not sure. Just thought I'd give board members a heads-up since I haven't seen a lot of this particular bottling around.-Mike

Just curious, what do those go for? Seen it on Ebay for the $100+ range...

Virus_Of_Life
So, silly question here, how good is this stuff? I think I found some in the LA area and would like to have one - not knowing when I'd open it - but still like to have it to open on some special occasion. Anyone tasted this recently? I need to do some research on just what it is, when it was made and how rare... etc...
wadewood
The WT Tribute was a tribute to Jimmy Russell working 50 years at Wild Turkey. 5500 bottles were produced in US version, some were also bottled for Japan in different bottle. Price was around $80. I'd say buy it and while you are there buy me a bottle as well and I will glady pay you back. I will also give you a good tip for bourbon in Tustin, CA: Try the Wine exchange at 1500 E Village Way. I was ther about 3 weeks ago and left a bottle on new Stagg on shelf for $39.99 They also had Pappy 20 for $70, Elmer T Lee for $17.
WAW
As far as how good it is, just found this article, and ordered a bottle from B-21. My Wife's Mom lives in Florida, so I'll just pick it up the next time I'm there!http://www.winespectator.com/Cigar/CA_Archives/CA_Show_Article/0,2322,1561,00.html

UNreal, for the prices they list, I almost can't believe it! I have to see it myself first thing in the morning I am going there!! Just too bad they are out of Pappy 15, for $36 I'd buy a couple! My favorite Turkey (and Turkey is my favorite so...) If you like Kentucky Spirit, I'd say it's like KS on steroids.... Same basic profile but more of it.... Virus_Of_Life
Uh, according to their computer they have 11 bottles in stock, I asked for a physical verification. She said "the Wild Turkey 15 year?" I said yes how many do you have she replied "11" I said this is the WIld Tuerky TRIBUTE 15 YEAR right? "Yes" she says. Could you please physically verify that for me? I am waiting her call back, she said she thinks they also have ONE bottle of Berghoff 14 Year Bourbon left in stock :skep: . From what little I could find out about it this is seems to be rare and good? Any insights? I am awaiting physical verification on the Berghoff as well....That is THE ONLY WT that would be a 15 year right?
NorCalBoozer
sounds like it to me, it comes in a round wooden tube and the bottle has a gold medal around the neck. I don't know what else would say 15 yr on it.this is a place in CA?
kbuzbee
I said yes how any do you have she replied "11" It sounds like Tribute to me. Do you know their price?? If it's reasonable, I would buy it all. Most places I've found who still have any, it's priced a bit high (or they can't ship).Ken

Virus_Of_Life
OK it does in fact seem to be the real deal! I spoke with someone who wouldn't walk over there and look at them but told me, rather adamantly, that yes he knows they are there because he has seen them and yes he knows they are rare... I will PM those who have already inquired if anyone else is interested in the location of these rare turkeys feel free to PM me.Wade I have to again greatly THANK YOU for the tip on the Wine Exchange! That place is UNREAL!!!! I have never seen prices that cheap! I went there yesterday and purchased one of those Pappy's @ $70, but was absolutely ECSTATIC to see BMH 16yo mis-priced as 14yo for $44 each (which by the way was still $6 less than I have seen 14!!!) they honored the pricing mistake so I got all three they had on the shelf! But EVERYTHING is cheap there, Elijah Craig 12 for $16, ETL for $17, Eagle Rare $18, Bakers $34, etc. I could go on with every spirit that place has on the shelf! Anyway better prices than I have ever seen and needless to say I thank you for the tip!
ProofPositive
Sitting here sipping on RR101 as the pour of the night, I am growing more & more tempted to open one of my Tributes. At present, there are 2 in the bunker. I have been eyeing a 3d one here at a local store. In fact, it is one of those that Jimmy autographed the wood box. I know those are even more rare. Price is the same as the others: $99.99. My justification for the 2d one was so I could open 1 and still have 1 in reserve. Well, that didn't work! So, do I use the same excuse again? On second thought, you don't really need an excuse to buy Tribute.....just a willingness to drop the Ben Franklin on it. Oh well, it's only money!!!
