Please explain the "black wax". I was only aware of the blue wax, gold wax and gold foil versions. Was this Hirsch destined for offshore sales?

I looked it up on the forums after his post. Evidentally, the 16 yr old was bottled in different looking bottles, different label and black wax and sold as an export only. I don't know how to attach the link, but I did the search as Hirsch, and found the reference with a picture of the bottle. I believe the post said that this was done with the first group of bottlings.

Hmm, bit suprised at some of you asking 'what is this...??'

There was a post here but it has been removed....it was regarding bourbon from Mitcher's Distillery....

There is also a GOLD WAX bottling and yes they are export bottlings.

Also they are now ALL GONE!!

My question that I cannot seem to find answered here or in the other thread is was this black wax export only version bottled when the bluewax with similar label was as the similar would suggest or was it bottled with the gold wax or gold foil? Anyone know? :stickpoke:

If the label is any indication it would have been with the blue wax version or possibly in between the blue and gold waxes.
