What is it? WhiskyFest Chicago, the biggest independent whisky event in the U.S., will be held on Wednesday evening, March 21, 2001, from 6:00-10:00 pm at the Hyatt Regency on Wacker Avenue. What will be poured? More than 200 of the world's finest and rarest whiskies will be available for sampling, featuring the finest single malt and blended Scotch whiskies, the best bourbons and Tennessee whiskeys, top of the line Irish whiskeys, and the best from Canada. The focus is on education, and distillery representatives will be on hand at the pouring booths to explain how the whiskies are made. Who will be speaking? Ten of the world's leading distillery managers and master blenders will be conducting seminars throughout the evening including Jimmy Bedford (Jack Daniel's), David Robertson (The Macallan), Eddie Russell (Wild Turkey), Richard Paterson (The Dalmore), Iain Henderson (Laphroaig), Bill Samuels (Maker's Mark), Anthony Burnet (Glenmorangie), Fritz Maytag (Anchor Distilling Co.), Barry Crockett (Jameson), and Evan Cattanach (The Classic Malts). World renowned whisky expert Michael Jackson will be giving the event's keynote speech. Many other well-known distillery managers are also expected to attend. Who will attend?
