I'm posting here to avoid hijacking a bourbon thread.

This afternoon I sipped Rittenhouse rye BIB for a while as my Phoenix Suns were letting the L.A. Lakers know what's what. Later perhaps I'll have the self-discipline to try it again and attempt to render some tasting notes.

First impression was that it may be more similar to WT rye than to the two others I've tried. Fuller flavored and yet smoother than JB rye; not as complex as Van Winkle FRR. As the game progressed, and the Suns' lead narrowed, I realized I wasn't really in the mood for contemplative sipping. I ended up having three tall drinks of ginger and rye (Vernor's ginger ale, the only ginger ale/beer I had on hand -- gee, I miss Trader Joe's).

I realize this is not the bottling that won the medals recently; I wonder why not.

Yours truly,

Dave Morefield
