photogjunkie
Anyone ever heard of a Canadian called Bush Pilot's Private Reserve? I found a tax stamped bottle this weekend in a store and was wondering if it was of any value. The bottle was numbered, so it seemed to be limited at issue. bluesbassdad
If you go to Advanced Search and search for "bush pilot" (select the forum, "Foreign Whiskey"), you will find many references to this bottling. I scanned them only briefly, but it seems you may have found a keeper.Yours truly,Dave Morefield
ThomasH
I have a bottle of this that I bought on vacation 2 years ago. It is 13 years old, was distilled in 1982 and bottled in 1995. Supposedly it was withdrawn from the US market after Anheiser Busch threatened to sue over use of the name as it apparently had some sort of product with the same name. I haven't opened mine so I don't know how good it is but I do know that it is not real common!
Dangermonkey
It was brought in by Robert Denton who was the original importer of the El Tesoro Tequila line.(Who is a friend of mine btw)Yes the swine at Anhauser Busch called it trademark infringement - right people would confuse a 12 year plus whisky with cheap beer- obviously the legal department was having a slow month and needed to justify their existence ! Bob did not have the resources to fight them and dropped it.It is a good whiskey and I would be happy to get hold of some if anybody comes across it
