BarItemsPlus1
I presume that this topic has no doubt been touched on to a certain degree....I was just reading over again the thread on Four Roses Mellow Moments club...it looks to me as though the only members are from SB.com...both Cam and I registered but unfortunately Yumiko informed us that we were unable to do so - would have been nice to at least have been kept up to date with news and info., but seems they are not interested?Another gripe...What is the story with the Wild Turkey website?? Just had a look then and their latest press release is dated - 6/10/03And...The Rare Breed Society?? Sure is Rare!! Should be named Extinct Society:slappin: Why do companies spend money on marketing then don't Market!!I filled out my form that was with my bottle and sent it in over a year and a half ago - and still no reply:hot: Maybe Wild Turkey has another website??Is this the official site - http://www.wildturkeybourbon.com/nest/index.aspSeems to me as though it is, I don't think Jimmy would be too happy at having his face on an unofficial website.Note to companies - Keep your websites up to date!! If your going to take the time to post one and pay for it to be hosted, I would think that you would attend to it also.He is a tip for Pernod and some others - rather than cutting employment and closing down distilleries upon realising financial positions - look at what you are waisting your money on!!All too often it is easier for a company to sack workers and cut costs via this method than actually looking at work they are truly waisting and cutting back on this instead.Anyway I will get off my :soapbox: now...Frustrated!! DrinkyBanjo
I receive mailings from Wild Turkey about twice a year. Do you not?
BarItemsPlus1
No I don't get anything from them!!I have even been to the 'Whiskey Experience'...it is a tasting held and promoted by the distributers here in Oz and the gentleman knew nothing of the website anyway so I didn't bother asking him...Oh which brings me to this little story, which I'm sure you US folk would dearly love to hear...This same gentleman proceeded to tell the 60 or so people at the night, that you will not find a bourbon older than just over 12 yrs old - WHAT THA!!Now this was only even when I just started learning, however I put my hand up and said - "What about Elijah Craig 18 yr old?"The reply..."Oh yes, that is a good bourbon"Quite frankly I doubt he even knew what it was...now I think about that statement and what I now know...I would love to attend this event again with even just 2 bottles of what I have here in my own bar...Maybe a Stagg and one of the Ryes I get from KBD(Drew), not to take the piss but to give this gentleman a bottle(which in turn I know would make him do a little research, or at least I hope so!?)I can't believe he is employed by the importer of WT here in Oz...more so I can't believe his employer didn't teach him what he should have been broadcasting at the event. What ever happened to product training?? I know there are a few here on SB.com whom work in liquor stores....Do you guys get any product knowledge seminars/meetings, from either employer/distributer....?? DrinkyBanjo
Kinda like how Bookers says that it is the only barrel proof Bourbon. We all know that is not true. From www.smallbatch.com"Booker's is the only bourbon bottled straight-from-the-barrel, uncut and unfiltered."
BarItemsPlus1
Just had a look at the website Tim...I can't believe that - It is clearly FALSE and MIS-LEADING!!I hope they have their arse covered for a possible law suit!!
