Searching through stores today I saw another bottle of Rowan's Creek (not common locally till very recently), and wondered if it was worth the $36 it was priced at?

Ive read Jim Murray's Whiskey Bible notes, but since I find him to be unreliable compared to my palate, I ask for your help. My normal pour is Eagle Rare 10yr SB. So, is it worth it?

Never had it, but heard a lot of good things about it and know that price is a about $6 less than the best price I have seen it for around here.

I'd try it for the price. I get it for much less with a discount beyond our $26.99 shelf price. But it's a really interesting pour for my tastes and is a regular on my shelf. In fact, it's all I've drank this summer besides Elmer T Lee.

I've had some of this (RC) and I was really impressed! Good abv (over 50%) and tasted very much like oranges if I remember. My concern is that Eagle Rare is so much more silky by comparison that you may not like this style. RC is more like Bookers than ER IMO.

My question is what else could you get for the $$? I'd rather have Blanton's, that's for sure...

I've had a few bottles and liked it pretty well. Somewhat woody if I remember corrrectly. I believe it was < $30 when I bought it.

I like it. It has a cinnamon spicyness I really enjoy.
