Im going to be in the city the weekend of the 15th and was curious if there is anything whiskey related I need to go see. Any information is appreciated.

I'd suggest the primo whiskey bar (and beer bar) DBA, at 1rst Street and 1st Avenue.

Also, Lenell's in Redhook, Brooklyn (short hop from Manhattan) for one of the best whiskey stores anywhere.

If you like jazz, see who is playing at Dizzy's Club Coca Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center. It's a wonderful venue. The bourbon connection? They have A. H. Hirsch 16-year-old gold foil on the back bar.

In addition to LeNell's shop, she has persuaded several neighborhood watering holes to amp up their bourbon selections. LeNell inspired bars include MiniBar, in Carroll Gardens, Red Hook Bait & Tackle (yes, it's a bar), Pioneer B-B-Q and Moonshine.

Another good thing about going to Brooklyn is driving across the Brooklyn Bridge, always a highlight of any trip to New York.

Even better is WALKING across it.

I agree. It was a long time since I visited "Noo Yawk" but I remember walking across Brooklyn Bridge.

I also probably made an idiot out of myself by asking a woman if it was dangerous crossing the bridge. For some reason, one of my guidebooks warned about being caught alone on the bridge. They probably meant after dark because the woman looked a bit perplexed before assuring me that it was completely safe. :)
