HighTower
I was wondering about bottling dates, and how I could go about getting a bourbon that was bottled on a certain date. I know the likes of EWSB and EC18 have their "barrelled on" dates, and I was wondering what bourbons are available that may have a bottled on date, like the "dumped on" date that it hand written on Blantons bottles. The reason I ask is I would like to try and get a bottle of bourbon that was bottled the day my son was born, on May 15 this year, something I would like as a keepsake.Scott
barturtle
There is an old tradition of laying down a barrel of port from the year a child is born for them to consume when they become of age. This may be a great way to convince your significant other to let you go out and buy you own barrel of whiskey. You may be able to get one of the distilleries to put aside a barrel for you to be bottled later when it has reached maturity.
HighTower
Our son was very sick and only lived for 3 days.....that's why I was after a particular date rather than a year.......the whole barrel idea sounds great to me......but I'm not sure how much my wife would like that idea:grin: Scott
