Hey folks,

Here is the press photo for the BT 06 Antique Collection. It is ready for shipment to stores. Distributers should be picking it up this week and you could see it on shelves as early as the end of the week in KY. Good luck finding it! I know Liquor Barn and Shoppers Village stores will be getting limited quantities. I look forward to tasting all of these as well as reviewing them and reading your reviews. Cheers!

Um, I am sorry, please excuse me for a moment I need some time to myself.... Uh check that, I need the rest if the evening to be alone.

Handy.... I think Handy is going to be in my hand quite often as I love the thought of a BP Rye! If it is anything like Saz Jr kicked up a notch I may have to have work even more to bunker a few cases of that stuff.

Thanks for the picture.

They're just fantastic! I want them now! Can anyone shed some light on the age of the William Larue Weller.....is it 19 years?

The William Larue Weller that came out last year was 12 years old. There was another from 2001 that was 19yrs. but it is no longer bottled.

They look so good, I want them all right now!

Does anyone know anything about this years selection, specifically?

Also I've never heard of Handy Sazerac Rye, anyone know anything about this one?

Thomas Handy Sazerac Rye is an 8 year old barrel proof rye. Yum!

You know I completely missed reading that, and that means it could very well be the same whiskey as the Sazerac Jr.! Excuse my ignorance if everyone is saying to themselves right now "Yeah, no duh!" But that is very exciting to me as I truly love that stuff and every time I drink it had wondered to myself how good a higher proof version of it would be?

Probably going to take a while yet until it reaches California unfortunately...

There may also be up to a 1 year difference on the two, the Handy being the older. Not a lot but some. I'm figuring that barrel selection also played into this as well.

I just got an email from Brett @ Binny's. He said in the next couple of weeks that he will have hand picked Saz Jr....which in his own words he is "really excited about, as the stuff I sampled through was universally outstanding".

Sounds great to me! I think Binny's should open a store here.....

I'm gonna have to drop by Binny's and Sam's a bit more often than I have, lately. :slappin:

Just stopping in to say I got one of each of these today. I practically had to pry them out of the hands of the store manager. He only wanted to let me have 1 of each bottle. I think other stores in the area got some and I am going to go see. I am going to try to get more Handy and Stagg as those are probably going to be the best and "most wanted". I will report back later if I find more hopefully taste them soon...

I've got a pry bar I can loan you:lol:

None here in Nebraska and from what I can tell not much hope on the horizon. You people in Kentucky burn me up :hot: you always get everything first, it's like you think that they make the stuff there.

:slappin:

Good luck, good hunting!

Needless to say, I'm envious, hopefully not for long. I feel some gravitating my way.

I was able to find some at some other stores. The Handy appears to be in VERY short supply. 1 store got 6 bottles, another had 3, and another big chain store got them all but the Handy. Handy, Weller, and Saz appear to be the ones in shortest supply. Everyone got a good supply of Stagg and Eagle Rare. I managed to pick up 4 bottles of the Handy and several more of the others. I am going hunting again tomorrow for more Handy and Weller.

According to bottling information from the fact sheets that I was able to pick-up:

Stagg -- 89 hand picked barrels

WLW -- 22 hand picked barrels

Saz -- 28 hand picked barrels

does anyone have the information for TH Saz or ER?

Just got hold of the TH Saz :

ER -- 47 hand picked barrels

TH Saz -- 24 hand picked barrels

Tasting note from the fact sheets:

TH SAZ "Bold Flavorful Allspice" 8 years and 5 month at bottling

ER "A touch of caramel and a hint of leather"

SAZ "Mature and spicy. Notes of oak, leather, and molasses."

Stagg "Like a big chunk of dark chocolate" 16 years and 3 months at bottling

WLW "A mouthful of sweet molasses" 15 years and 3 months at bottling

I picked up a 3 bottle case of the TH SAZ today. The store only got 1 case and was keeping it in the back room with the rest of the Antiques. It came with the fact sheet and tissue paper on the bottles. I also picked up another WLW. It appears the the WLW is the shortest run with the TH SAZ a close second. 24 barrels for the entire world until next year!

See pics of letter/fact sheet here:

53 Gallons in a barrel

29.75% evaporation

24 total barrels

Equals 893 gallons of Handy

3785 ml per gallon

Equals 3382200 ml's total

Equals 4509 750ml bottles total

Chances of finding some in Oklahoma equals slim and none.

I got the fact sheet for the Stagg...but only bought single bottles...and forgot to ask about fact sheets for the others. Thanks for posting that.

Thanks for the sheets. I just got three bottles of Stagg: 2 2006's and 1 2003. We found some 2003's in Chicago. These others are ones i haven't tried yet, but sound great.
