I had theI had the last pour from a bottle of Jack Daniels the other day. A friend had given it to me. It took me about two years to drink it all. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't often what I wanted to drink on a particular evening.

I'm glad I had it. It let me participate in discussions about Jack Daniels. And sometimes, I did want some Jack-Bananas-Daniels. I'll probably get a bottle next time I see it on sale.

Bernheim is all over the place here in KY for under $40. I just picked up a bottle a few days ago since it is one of my wife's favorites. I just said goodbye to a bottle of Rittenhouse BIB that I paid $15 for. I can't find anymore around here. If I could I'd buy several bottles.

I've seen it at Park Avenue Liquors in New York City. More expensive than $40.

Just finished off the first bottle of Weller 107 ever bought. The gold veined bottle looks just as good empty as full. I would like to see this bottle reintroduced. It is such a nice touch.

For example, he took the empty of a Hirsch 20 yr old, and the empty of the Wild Turkey Tribute (along with the round beechwood box).

Saved me the pain of just tossing 'em into the recycling bin.

There is an intimacy to finishing a bottle drunk through, I think. Rather than an honored 'dead soldier', I like to think of empty bottles as 'living witnesses', via my taste memory.

I think I must some rare bourbon related form of OCD. It has got to the point where I won't open a bottle unless I have another unopened bottle of the same thing in my stash. Before I got so sick I opened my first bottle of PVW15 without having a backup. Fortunately my wife came through with a couple of bottles under the tree, allowing me to finish the last pour of my first PVW15 - and allowing me to be able to open a new bottle tomorrow.

My favorite VWFRR 13yr gave me it last pour on Christmas Eve. Man what a great whiskey. Thank goodness I have a couple of unopened bottles just sitting in the bunker. Also Old Forester emptied into some of the best egg nog. Thanks to Jeff for the recipe.

If I might ask, which batch were you enjoying? Just curious. The only one I have seen in my travels is the 127.4 proof (63.7) bottle which I think is the 3rd batch. I have been wondering if anyone had been able to try more than 1 of the 3 and which one he/she favored over another. Maybe all 3 are about the same. I know that in some such special bottlings, the first is the best for some reason. I can't be choosy though, probably will only see the 3rd version is my region.

It could be an inflammation of something that you don't want to admit to.

I have the same problem with things I cook with -- spices, bottles of sauces, etc. I am inflamed with terror that unless I have an unopened bottle as a back-up, I will run out of something at a critical part of preparing a dish.

It must be Hyperbunkerism especially if it acquires bottles at an astounding rate. Unless you have a bunker that sees little action, then it would be hypobunkerism. A bunker full of Bourbon Supreme would be Toureboning.

Killed her tonight! She gave everything she had, I even put a couple drips of water in the bottle to make sure I got it all! OscarV style...straight from the bottle :grin:!

My L'Ville W.L.Weller Centennial has poured it's last pour! 2 fingers in the glass and just sipping and relaxing after a long day.

2 weeks off with the wife and the daughters! I may kill another bottle or two in that time.
