My family & I have been drinking this whiskey for years. All of a sudden, it is nolonger on store shelves. I live in South Central Louisiana. Does anyone know any details on the company that produces this bourbon and if it is still in production? etc., etc.?

Thanks

I believe this brand was purchased by Fortune Brands the same time they acquired Makers Mark, and now it is no more.

Walker's is/was a bottom shelf pour, but tasty when mixed, My FIL has a bottle that has been in his curio for 10 years! Try Beam White, or VOB 80 for a replacement.

This summer I found 4 bottles of Walker's Deluxe that was bottled in the mid 70's. The party store owner let me have them for $4.00 a piece. It is good for mixing. Neat it is thin but then it is only 80 proof vs >100 proof for most stuff that I drink neat.

I'm not disappointed, pour it over into a fancy bottle make the mixed drink a little stronger and no one knows the difference.

I have consumed more Walkers in my life than any other bourbon, yes

I am a poor man. A great bang for your buck. Apparently whatever

is on the shelves is what is left. Store down the street still has

like 500 bottles left, but I have since moved on.:smiley_acbt:

I've been able to get the 86 proof expression of Walker's Deluxe. It's good Barton's whiskey at this proof, a step up I'd say from the Ten High. It's balanced, with some apricot in the finish.

I frequently see both Walker's Deluxe and Ten High together on the bottom shelf and always assumed Ten High to be the better of the two. Now you've made me want to try some Walker's Deluxe.

My father in-law gave me a bottle of Walkers Deluxe that was bottled in the 70s. I kinda like it. Not Paddy though.

I'll drink to that!!!

I'm not sure if Louisiana allows direct shipping or not, but I saw it on hi time the other day. I only remember that because it was the first time I had ever heard of it, since Oregon doesn't stock it. 1 liter for 11.99, might as well stock up if that's your poison.

If it's like other bourbons, now that it's NLA Walker's Deluxe will become much more highly regarded! In ten years people will ooh and aah over bottles of 2006 Walker's Deluxe and excitedly report their WD dusty corner finds.

Maybe.

I had a bottle once. It was not too complex but it was smooth and pleasant.
