Try eBay, someone has 5 bottle of Single B up right now, I think on the express site. You'll pay more, but if you want it..... I can luckily drive to Ky in 5 hours.

Cheers, Phil

Has anyone ever contacted Four Roses and asked them for help obtaining their product outside of Kentucky? I wonder what their answer would be.

In some states, I think they could easily send a small order through Diageo's distributor in that market. In other words, piggyback onto a Bulleit or Seagrams Seven shipment. The distributor would then arrange for the consumer to pick it up, and pay for it, at a convenient retailer.

This would be impossible in some states, where I know every product has to be registered before it can be sold in that state, but I don't know if that's true in every state. (I probably should know that, but I don't.)

If it's not, then it's just a matter of will. I can see them deciding it's not worth the trouble, but I can just as easily imagine them deciding that it is.

They have to be thinking about expanding their distribution at some point. Showing them there is demand for it helps speed that process along, in most cases. Showing them an easy, inexpensive way to virally introduce the product into other markets, through saavy enthusiasts like the members of StraightBourbon.com, might also be a winning strategy.

The Four Roses bourbons aren't just products you should want because you can't have them, they're products you should want because they're that good.

You should work on that. At least Ky is only a 4 or 5 hour drive from Chi-Town. So I need to get down there soon.

I took a tour of Four Roses this past April and the tour guide said that they were eventually going to expand the brand to other states as soon as the inventory was sufficient to do so. They already export a fair amount so I see no reason why they shouldn't expand here also. I suspect they put export as a greater priority as they can probably get more per bottle right up front as they know it sells for quite a bit more in those other countries!

I will add an "Amen" to DougDog's vigorous agreement with Chuck. I have a (now half) bottle of their new Small Batch that I count among my top handful of bourbons, and, as I have posted before, one of their single barrels was my top of all times. This distillery clearly has my tastes in their sights.

One of the many downsides of moving my mother up to Michigan from Cincinnati is that I no longer get down there very often. I got a nice Christmas card from FR with many real signatures from the staff. Wish I could participate in their offerings.
