Gillman
Last night I had a funny dream. I think partly it was influenced by a song I heard on the radio earlier in the day, Spill The Wine by Eric Burdon and War.I was walking in a park in San Francisco. I don't know which park, but probably it was at the Praesidio (where I have never been). It was a nice day, not too hot, not too cold (just like Frisco, right?). Very colorful day and people in colorful clothes were walking by, much younger than I (late 20's-30's) but I felt very much part of the crowd. Some of them were members of this board and I said, hi, nice to see you in San Francisco. At some point I found a decanter of Beam's Choice from the 1960's and decided to open it. It had a tall, very thin cork and was shaped kind of like an old-style canteen, so that when you laid it on its side, the liquid did not go into the neck or not completely. I thought, this decanter will be in perfect condition because even if it had been mishandled, the whiskey never touched the cork (unless it had been held upside down which was unlikely). There was music in the distance and I felt very relaxed. I opened the decanter with anticipation, the seal had been good but the cork came out easily. The cork was white and pure and looked as if the whiskey never touched it. I thought, this is going to be one of the great whiskey experiences and I started to explain this to a member of the board who was watching me. I nosed the decanter and the smell was rich, clean, very pure, very pre-1990. I thought oh my this will be good, I'm lucky to find this bottle and try this drink in such a nice place. Then I woke up, so quickly there was no time to be keenly disappointed.(True story).Gary

kbuzbee
Gary, your dreams have more detail than my life does:bigeyes: Nice!Ken
Gillman
Thanks all. My dreams usually involve music of some kind, often bourbon in some connection, and often cigaret smoking which I stopped 15 years ago. When involving bourbon, usually it has to do with sharing or finding some rare specialty. By virtue of being at Gazebos with generous SB-ers, the reality is often similar to the dream life, except I won't smoke anything. Gary
