JDutton
I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere in the forum, but this was a favorite drink of mine for many years before I "discovered" bourbon, and still is. It is a simple recipe: 1/2 bourbon, 1/2 Peppermint Schnapps, over ice. Sometimes I'll vary the proportion depending on my mood or the bourbon I'm using. The original recipe calls for Wild Turkey. It also doesn't taste right unless I'm using DeKuyper Peppermint Schnapps. Very few bartenders have heard of it, but every now and then I'll run across one who is familiar with it. I was introduced to the drink in 1974 in Denver. I've heard that it originated as a shooter to warm up from being out in the snow. I like it much better over cracked ice.Jeff
