Martian
What is your favorite apertif Bourbon or rye? My favorite time to sip whiskey is before dinner or while I'm cooking.
ILLfarmboy
Hmm. I usually like bourbon or rye with my meal (steak and the like) and occasionally a peaty scotch with something garlicky. I have, however, found Saz jr. to be a good before dinner dram; not so good with a meal though.
ggilbertva
I typically don't do an aperitif. My pours are usually after dinner later in the evening as I'm winding down after a long day. Would that be afteritif?

TBoner
Late to the party, I know, but I also tend to go rye or rye-heavy for an aperitif.OGD 86, for instance, is a favorite. So is a good Manhattan made w/cheap rye. That said, BT is a pretty good aperitif I've turned to recently, and Old Forester 86 is nice as well. fogfrog
Right now it is Old Charter Ten Years Old. Heck, its the only bottle I have left! That being said, it is good sipping whiskey.
