Picker22
I've been looking for some ETL in Kansas City, and have not been able to locate it. If anyone knows if it's sold in this area and where it is, I would appreciate it!Thanks.
plaidford
I rarely see this on the shelves in KC either. It seems there is only one distributor in the area -- and they do carry it. Most liquor stores will order it for you and have it within a couple of days. I think the last time I had 2 bottles ordered (last summer), they ran about $35 each. If they don't have it, ask them to look it up in their book and order it. They once helped me get Velvet Falernum imported into the state of Kansas. Took four months, but now you can buy Velvet Falernum in Kansas. I was impressed with their service.
Russellc
I havent found it here either....I have been scouring liquor stores around KC since 1987 and have never heard of lukas liquors....I was just in a store in southern Ill. where they had two bottles for 29 bucks each, I knew I should have grabbed them!russellc
Picker22
I spoke to Rimann Liquors (up north in Briarcliff) a few days ago. They ordered and I picked it up today for $22. I would assume that the other Rimann's would do that as well.
plaidford
This just goes to show that my memory is not as dependable as it used to be. After seeing the prices mentioned here and how out of line my price was, I went back and checked my records -- one of the bottles I had ordered through Roeland Park Liquors - a small shop that was near my office at the time. I got it for $25 - not $35 as I posted above. Didn't keep track of the cost of the 2nd bottle.Either way -- good stuff.

They have one at 119th and Metcalf on the SW corner, and one at 135th and Stateline, just SE on the Missouri side.
Picker22
I venture down to Lukas every once in a while. I live north of the river, so it's a bit of a drive. I've found that most liquor stores will try to order something for you if they don't carry it. At least they have when I've been looking for a wine that is not on the shelves. Rughi
I'm surprised to not having seen mention of Berbiglia. They were my source of Nicholson 1843, and ER 101 as recently as last year. I think they have a house brand bourbon (I wonder who might sell them their whiskey ??H?H??), but I haven't been in there for some time.Roger
DemeraraDrinker
Yeah, Gomers and Berbiglia are also quite good, and farther north. If you are looking for something pretty common, the Costco on Linwood is cheap.
Picker22
I frequent Red-X in Riverside. Pretty good selection. Awesome wine selection also with great prices. If any of you live in Johnson County, there is a liquor/wine store on Shawnee Mission Pkwy on the north side of the road, pretty close to 435 (across the street from Hy-Vee). I think the intersection is Lackman. Anyway, stopped in there the other day, and they had a Bulleit package including two Bulleit glasses for $15. Normally, it's around $23 w/o the glasses. I might have to make another trip and stock up if they still have some. Also had some Van Winkle for $41 (don't remember the specifics, was in a bit of a hurry). texascarl
Seems to me that I bought my last bottle of ETL at Royal Liquors, 103rd and State Line. But it's been a while.
