Sweetmeats
Not sure if anyone else likes this show. The premise is generally that this guy goes all around the world and drinks the local beverages, tours the plants where they are made, gets generally drunk, and all in High Definition. So the episode that just premiered on Wednesday took place in Kentucky and it was all about Bourbon. The beginning was the Van Winkles letting the host enjoy the different aged Pappys. Nice little plug for our favorite spirit. If you missed it check your local listings for Three Sheets on MOJOHD.I want to know that top secret Apple Pie tasting drink served though. dgonano
I did catch the episode. Besides Julian and Preston, it also featured Bourbons Bistro and a Nelson County bar known as the Sherwood Inn.
Sweetmeats
Was the Sherwood Inn the one at the end? That looks like a great place to go.
dgonano
Yes. They had a small hole in the floor, about an inch or so in diameter, in which you placed money for good luck. I know they said it was in Nelson County, but I don't remember if they mentioned the exact location. They served some kind of Apple Pie flavored concoction from a bottle hidden in a paper bag???The episode also featured a moonshine operation in the woods.Cameras weren't allowed to film the location. camduncan
Almost sounds like another Thirsty Traveler type show....which I'm a huge fan of...Sadly, I don't think Three Sheets has made to cable viewing Downunder yet:smiley_acbt:
cowdery
There's a Sherwood Inn in New Haven that's a Bed & Breakfast. Is that what we're talking about?
Sweetmeats
It could have been if it has a bar too. I think all they showed was the bar. And I don't think I've ever seen a bar with that much Bourbon before in my life. I like the drinking beers out of Mason Jars idea too. It just looked like a cool place to hang out. dgonano
They kept flipping back on the scenes. I believe the bar with all the bourbons was Bourbons Bistro in Louisville. The Sherwood Inn was on a corner, sort of like a triangular site. There was a yellow freight train parked next to it. It seemed like a lot of "locals" patronized the Sherwod Inn. I will watch the rebroadcasts and try to identify more scenes.
Sweetmeats
I still had it on Tivo. It was the Sherwood Inn. That place seems very cool.
