OscarV
I was reading the latest issue of The Malt Advocate and in their Buyer's Guide section they review Delilah's 13 Bourbon, 13yo, Batch #1, 100 proof.Delilah's, from what I understand is a bar in Chicago and they have their very own single barrel bourbon. The review in the magazine made it sound very good.So all you guys in and around Chicago, how about a report, what do you think about this bar and their bourbon. doubleblank
Do a search on "Chicago Whiskeyfest" and you'll see comments on Mikes place called Delilah's. Its small, dark, mostly a younger crowd....untill the Whiskeyfest attendees show up. And he has a great bourbon selection. We've tried a lot of outstanding whiskeys there.....many long out of production. Pre-pro Old Mock, Old Commonwealth (on the last visit), etc.BTW, when Randy and I tried the Delilah's 13yo.......we looked at each other and the bartender and said "heaven hill whiskey". The bartender said "You guys know whiskey, don't you?" It is good, but its the other stuff on the shelf that makes the trip worthwhile. Oh, and the tall, blond bartender in fishnet hose isn't bad either.Randy

StraightBoston
I made a second pilgrimage to Delilah's last month on a business trip (and tried the aforementioned Old Mock and Old Comm -- yum!) Did a flight of the Delilah's house label, and the older, Julian, version won hands-down -- a butterier, smoother version of the Old Commonwealth. I love some of the KBD bottlings, but this one was unimpressive.
