doubleblank
Our community here at SB.com tends to be a very generous lot. Jim hosting our party at Straightbourbon at no cost to us.......the bottles offered up at the Gazebo table during the Sampler and BourbonFest.....donations to Bardstown area charities and to the Oscar Getz Museum.......members hosting other members at organized socials or when just visiting from out-of-town.....and sharing unusual finds with members you've never even seen in person all around the world. Two recent examples...... Two new members (Gus....Gblick and Bob......Yellowjacket) have been sharing their finds here in Houston. And they are further being shared with other SB'ers around the country. Todays purchases are curtesy of Bob and I hope to share them at future Gazebo tables, etc. Pictured below are Henry Clay and Joseph Finch. Both in their original tissue and boxes. Priced at $69.99 each. Also pictured are three Wathens from 1998 (barrel 21 bottled on April 7, 1998.....that was a busy day for the Medleys as they bottled several barrels on that day). They and others could have done other things with their finds, but chose to share here at SB. That's a real sense of community. Cheers. Hey Todd........grab those WT 12yo's Bob found. I've got plenty. Randy

Phischy
Where are you finding these bottlings in Houston? The Spec's downtown? My parents live in Katy so I'm usually back 1 or 2x per year.
doubleblank
There are over 400 liquor stores in the Houston area. I probably have 10 stores within three miles of my house and I live in the 'burbs. You won't be finding anything "dusty" at Specs....although it is a great place to get your standards and the BTAC's. Most of these stores are in out of the way strip centers in older parts of town. Or located in areas that were once fairly affluent but have gone backward. Hence, they have no customers for their WT 12yo at $50 (there's a fair amount of split label and gold foil ones still around). Drop us a PM when you're in the area and we'll direct you to some store to hunt.Randy
