I have not been able to locate any of the 10 yr old 90 or 107 proof in Louisville lately..Liquor Barn at Hurstbourne does not have it..Any suggestions? Thanks..

The Lawrenceburg bottlings are no longer made and very hard to find here in SoCal. The Frankfurt bottlings (current) are found at your larger liquor stores and specialty liquor stores.

Have you tried the Liquor Barn on Fern Valley? I have seen it there in the past. If you want to venture up to the Newport and Covington area near Cinncinati, Party Source usually has the 90 and 107 proof versions!

:slappin::slappin:Lets try to clarify:

I think he's shopping in Louisville KY.

:slappin::slappin:

Yes the bottles would say Lawrenceburg or Frankfort

:grin::grin:

And FYI, those bottles seem to have diminished around here too.

I know, my reply was to HM (who had mentioned the Louisville bottling).

Thanks, though.

I haven't seen ORVW 10-year at the booze stores on Indy's NWside. I usually find it in West Lafayette at one of the big booze bastions on Sagamore Parkway.

I've never seen it at the local big guys either, just a B rate liquor store in a college part of town. Strange...

I would venture a guess that B rate liquor store probably has been in business twice as long as the local big guys and has gotten ORVW for many years.

Actually when I went in last and bought 4 bottles the guy ringing me up told me the owner's brother loves bourbon and that's the reason they carry any of the Van Winkles.

I still need to go back and snag the rest plus some 20yr.

I can't find Old Rip around here either....guess I will have to go the Bourbon festival and buy a few bottles. I have done several tastings this week because I am on vacation. I'll have to say that Makers Mark stands out as my favorite this week! Knob Creek is right up there too. Wish I had the Old Rip here for this weekends tastings.....hope the weather holds. Last weekend I went to a local Bluesfest and I want to tell you that Joe Bonnamassa is a must see:bowdown: ..Bourbon, Blues, and BBQ....life is good! Hermanski

Up here in CT I can easily get PVW20 in any of the big liquor stores as well as the Lot B. The 10/90 and 107 will not be available until mid-Sept I've been told.

The funny thing is I just saw the ORVW 10/90 and 107 just about a month ago and decided to pass on it. As it turns out, that wasn't a wise idea.

At any rate, my mentality for purchasing VW products here in CT is as follows. Why bother purchasing a Lot B (Bernheim) when I can get a 15 yo (when avail) for virtually the same price and it's a S/W.

On the other side of the coin, why bother to purchase a Lot B for $45 when I can purchase a 10 yo 107 for $20 less? It's the same bourbon (Bernheim), only two years younger, and it's at a higher proof (Lot B is 90 proof and the 10 is 107).

Sometimes I just don't understand the pricing.
