Khari
There are one or two Scotches that I want but can't get in the States, so I've decided to purchase them from overseas. To help justify the astronomical shipping costs, I'm open to making other worthwhile purchases. I decided to solicit your input before dropping the coin. Do you guys have any suggestions? camduncan
I use www.thewhiskyexchange.comThe few times my Wife or I have visited the UK, I always get something from the Whiskey Exchange, and/or, Royal Mile Whiskys. Both have excellent staff who are only too happy to help.
Khari
The Whisky Exchange and Royal Mile Whiskies are the two I'm looking to purchase from. As for what I like, I currently have several from Macallan, Balvenie, Laphroaig, Dalmore, and Aberlour, among others. What I was looking for was something different. Of course, it depends on your taste, and I don't know exactly what WE and RM stock, but if it were me, I would go for any bottlings from Diageo's Flora and Fauna collections, including Mortlach and Linkwood, and, if you are up for some big spending, Diageo's Rare Malts collection releases such as Port Ellen and Brora. These products are only available, as far as I know, through Indie bottlers in the US. Also, a number of well regarded Islays are not available stateside, including Ardbeg Very Young, Still Young, Almost There and Serendipity, Lagavulin Distiller's Edition and Smokehead from Ian McLeod. In addition, Ian McLeod bottlings of Talisker are very well reviewed and I've never seen them in the US.Let us know what you get.
