Dr. François
If you're from MI, you've undoubtedly experienced frustration with not being able to find the bottle you're looking for because of Michigan's outdated and silly liquor laws.I'm looking for some good stores on the border of MI and Ohio or MI and Indiana. Any suggestions?
TNbourbon
City-Wide Liquors has several well-stocked (with bourbon) stores in the South Bend/Mishawaka, IN area.Seems they're redoing their website, but here are locations:http://citywideliquors.com/
ThomasH
Ohio isn't really much different from Michigan when it comes to liquor stores. Michigan may actually have a better selection than Ohio. Try going to Canada, the duty free stores sometimes have bottles only available there!Thomas
Special Reserve
The tunnel duty free in Windsor is not a good bourbon source. Check out their website http://www.dutyfreetunnel.com/liquor.php and what they call bourbon. Furthermore the Rare Breed and WT 101 were more expensive there than in MI.Scotch and Canadian at the duty free are another story. They have great sales on both. You can call them about their prices and exchange rates. Their phone numbers or on the website.I don't know anything about the duty free at the bridge. You may need a passport to reenter into the US. I would check with immigration first if you don't have a passport. I know until recently you could return by ground with a valid driver's license and an endorsed birth certificate but that may have changed recently.Ohio is not any better than MI for bourbon. I don't know about Indiana, Illinois particularly Chicago is great. Will
cas
I don't find the selection in MI too bad, but it's spotty and expensive. But I did find some WT American Spirit this afternoon!!!Craig
ACDetroit
The Bridge (Embassador Detroit), Bourbon not so much same with (The Blue Water) the bridge in Sarnia. The LCBO in other areas do get the export Blantons and a couple of the Special Reserve (Green Lables) are still available. If you go into any LCBO in Ontario and ask them to look up Blantons they can tell you where it's located still. The Silver, Gold, and Straight from the Barrel are all sold out.
