Virus_Of_Life
I am up in Washington on Business and honetly have very little time for anything especially searching for a decent drink; however I am craving a good pour and short of buying a whole bottle in the stores which don't seem to stock much, I'm looking for help! I am staying in Federal Way and have other coworkers in Bellevue. Seattle would probably be a stretch but plan to hit downtown tacoma where I hear there are some good restaurants (Lobster Shop, Asado). I am likely out of here next Saturday the 20th to head to Portland for about another week to finish up my portion of the job so the nights to get out are getting slim but not as slim as my patience for this project and need for a good drink!!!I know Todd and Wade are up in the general vicinity, any advice? wadewood
If you can go to Seattle, look up Zig Zag Cafe. It is a few blocks south of the Pike Place market. Great selection & great service. Most of the nicer restaurants in Puget Sound will probably have a part of the small Batch collection; maybe WT Rare Breed, but not much else. T47
I do most of my drinking at home  I know FX MccRorys next to Quest Field has a nice selection of Bourbon. They advertise that they have over 135 different bottles of Bourbon. It is a tourist spot and prices are not great...but the few times I have been there I have enjoyed it.Federal Way? I know nothing in that area? There was a nice pub in Tacoma when I went to school there and I think its still around, Engine House #9, always had a great selection of Beers...If you decide to try one of the 135 MccRorys bottles some night let me know, if I am not working I can head into town to treat you to a couple. Or if your so inclined I can grill you up a steak and you can select from my shelf...I am scuba diving Monday night in my quest for the ever elusive 6 gill shark...but the rest of the week appears open if you'd like. I realize your shedule is busy, but this board seems like such a nice group of folks I'd hate to not extend the appropriate NW welcome to you.:toast:

I would take you up on your offer in a second if, yes, it wasn't for this schedule. I am at it pretty much 90 hours a week right now and the only let up will be after I have gone down to the Portland (Lake Oswego to be exact) office this Friday or first thing Saturday to finish my last packages by next Wednesday the 24th. Hence once I am down there, I won't be feeling like heading back up this way. Thanks for the replies and something tells me I'll be back now that I have been up here and we are trying to grow our Bellevue practice. thanson
For something different, you could try Licorous (http://licorous.com/index.html). It is the bar next door to Lark. I happened in after dinner just last week and was surprised at the good selection of bourbons and ryes. Aside from the small batch selection, I saw PVW and Elmer T Lee. I didn't eat there, but if the food is anything like Lark, it would be great. If you like cocktails, try the Italian Rye. It's a sort of dry rye Manhattan.
