Anyone know of any? I'm in the mood for some good bourbon and bbq, and will be heading that way in a week or so.

Thanks,

Tim

All the local steak houses have well stocked bars. It might depend as much as to what part of town you will be staying in.

We'll be all over, both MO and KS sides, plan to spend a lot of time in the plaza though. Recommend a good KC strip?

The Plaza III is a local icon. If you want an outstanding dinner while on the plaza, there is no better place. It is old, rustic and expensive ($$$-$$$$), but well worth it.

Two other locally owned steak houses. The Hereford House has four locations in the metro and is always outstanding. ($$-$$$).

J. Gilbert's is perhaps my favorite. Located at Metcalf and 89th street, this place is hard to beat. ($$-$$$).

If it is BBQ that you are after, just stop at the first place you see, order a beer and enjoy. No such thing as bad BBQ.

If I can provide any more info, just ask.

There's a restaurant called JJ's at 910 W 48th St (Kansas City, MO 64112

Phone: (816) 561-7136) on the west side of the Plaza. Run by one of the former chefs for Aristotle Onassis. Best wine selection in town, but more important...a great selection of spirits as well. Food is top notch, of course, but this is where I used to go in order to try something new.
