How Much Four Roses 40th did we pick...?

I picked up 4 bottles in KY last month. Two for me, two for my bro.

Distilleries are allowed to sell, through legal channels, to any state they see fit; however, as I mentioned, they are limited by supply. Four Roses has decided, to better serve the customers that it can supply for, it needs to limit its distribution. While none of us are happy when this happens, there is still no law against them selling in any state they want to. However, direct shipping is, and looks likely to remain, illegal. In any case, direct shipping would still go through the 3 tier system (producer, distributor, retailer) and the channel is sold out...because supply doesn't meet demand. All direct shipping laws in other states are there for small producers, and no distilleries in KY currently meet the standards set by such laws.

Let me go ahead and correct myself:

Direct Shipping is from the producer to the consumer, and is allowed in limited cases in some states, usually involving wine, and most states require that the winery be small enough that a distributor would not be willing/able to properly serve them. Some even require that you visit the winery to make the purchase. This is illegal in KY. But it doesn't go through a traditional 3 tier system.

Also illegal in KY is shipping out of state from retailers to consumers, this is not what is referred to as direct shipping. This does go through the traditional 3 tier system.

Is the 40th still able to be obtained or are they all gone? I've been searching all over and cannot come up with any. I found this forum and it looks as though you all have a lot of knowledge on this particular bourbon.

Haven't opened them yet, but we may do so soon. All four are from barrel 17-1D, I believe.
