pepcycle
I had a chance to stop by and visit with Drew over the weekend. I can't believe how far things have progressed since the last time I was there. The boiler, column still, pot still, grain bins, fermentation and boiling vessels are in place and hooked up for steam.New pumps and a chill cooler are awaiting installation. Work is progressing on a visitor center, pavillion and the bottling area. This is going to be one very cool site. I think it'll be a while before the warehouses are refurbed, the roads paved and the finishing touches put in, but it won't be long till the first steam and diesel smoke bellows from the steam boiler. Good Luck to the Kulseveens!!!!I can't wait.

cowdery
I have been a skeptic because this has been so long promised and so slow in coming, but I appreciate that they have been moving slowly because they are trying to do it without incurring a lot of debt. I'm glad to hear they are making progress because with the expansions at most of the other distilleries and the anticipated return to production of Medley in Owensboro, the timing couldn't be better. We can each do our part by drinking as much American whiskey as possible, to keep sales growing and keeping the pressure on for increased production. I'm willing to make that commitment. I'm willing to make that commitment.I will do my best Chuck. When it comes to the small Willet distillery it is defiantly my highest priority “distillery wise†so to speak to see that in production on my next Kentucky visit. Second priority is defiantly any of Jim Beams 2 distilleries.Leif

cowdery
Angostura just announced the purchase a few weeks ago. They have a lot of rebuilding to do, but it could be in production as early as next year. They're probably going after the bulk market. They also bought the old Seagram's distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, that's mostly a GNS plant, but has a whiskey still too. With that they also got a grain silo that supplies some distilleries, including Four Roses. And they own a Florida distillery that didn't make whiskey but what it did make I don't know. Angostura is mostly known for the bitters, i.e., not a big deal, but they are in Trinidad & Tobago, where they make rum and other stuff, and they are owned by a big insurance and financial services outfit, so they have a lot of capital. There's more here.
